Is it going to be the “same same, but different” result for Rana?

Rana Daggubati’s much-delayed pan-India tribal drama, Aranya had its theatrical release on March 26. Opened to below-par reports, the film bombed at the box office.

As per the trade reports, the film had hardly collected Rs 5 crores share at the box office in both Telugu and Tamil. Done and dusted with Aranya’s verdict, Rana is gearing up for the promotions of his upcoming film, Virata Parvam which is slated to hit the screens on April 30th.

Set in an intense backdrop, the conflict between the police and Naxals is going to be the main USB of Virata Parvam. As a sub-plot, how the love story between a revolutionary leader Ravi and a village belle ( role played by Sai Pallavi) gets affected is expected to be showcased with an authentic approach.

Incidentally, the common point between Aranya and Virata Parvam is both the films are made in the forest backdrop. While Aranya showcases the save elephants concept, Virata Parvam is going to project the life of Maoists in backword regions.

While Aranya disappointed Rana badly, will Virata Parvam makes him happy? remains to be seen.

Directed by Venu Udugula, Virata Parvam also stars National Award-winning actresses Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Eswari Rao, Zarina Wahab and Nivetha Pethuraj in lead roles.
