There’s been a lot of buzz around the budget of Ramayana ever since its first look was released.
While many reports suggested different figures, the film’s producer Namit Malhotra has now officially revealed that the total budget for both parts of the film is around $500 million (approximately ₹4000 crores).
This makes Ramayana the most expensive Indian film ever and one of the costliest film franchises globally. In a podcast, Namit shared that they are making the largest film in the world based on the greatest epic.
He also stated that compared to many Hollywood films, Ramayana is being made at a lower cost, and for him, the project is more about passion than money.
The film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. It will be released worldwide in multiple languages- Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
