Indian 2 movie the sequel to the sensational hit “Indian” is gearing up for release this May with high expectations in south. The first version did extremely well throughout India, responsive to audiences of numerous languages. The sequel now wants to match and even better than its predecessor’s success by attaining two key milestones, becoming Kollywood’s highest-grossing picture and reaching the coveted 1000 crore mark.
Kollywood has been eagerly awaiting a film that resonates with audiences across linguistic boundaries. While “2PointO” achieved immense success, grossing 700Cr, it fell short of the 1000Cr mark, particularly struggling to capture the Tamil audience’s attention. Other films like “Leo,” “Jailer,” and “Ponniyin Selvan” faced challenges in northern markets, limiting their overall gross.
“Indian 2” carries the burden of expectations, especially being part of a series with future installments planned. Director Shankar aims to not only surpass “2PointO” but also to ensure the film’s success across all languages, including Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.
