Ilaiyaraaja Says No One Can Match His Musical Legacy

Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, often hailed as the ‘Maestro’ of Indian music recently made a strong statement during a promotional interview for the upcoming Telugu film Shashtipoorthi releasing on May 30th.

He boldly claimed that there has never been, and never will be a composer like him in cinema. His words quickly went viral sparking widespread discussion online.

Ilaiyaraaja highlighted how his musical style especially his experimental and genre-breaking work in South Indian cinema remains unique and beyond comparison.

With over 7,000 songs and background scores for more than 1,000 movies across all languages his contributions have shaped the music industry. Rahman and Keeravani have acknowledged Ilaiyaraaja as their guru and a trailblazer in Indian music.
