Nandamuri Balakrishna delivered industry hits in the 90s and continues to enjoy a loyal fanbase even to this day. The actor went through a string of flops in 2019, with three consecutive flops in the form of NTR: Kathanayakudu, NTR: Mahanayakudu and Ruler. Post that, the actor is currently working with director Boyapati Srinu, on Akhanda.
Boyapati and Balakrishna delivered two massive successes in the form of Simha and Legend previously, and there are decent expectations on Akhanda now. Akhanda suffered from casting problems in its initial stages. Boyapati couldn’t finalise a leading lady for the film for a really long time and roped in Pragya Jaiswal as the heroine after a lot of recastings. Many top heroines were approached for the role, but all of them rejected the offer, which turned out to be a major problem for Akhanda.
Director Gopichand Malineni, who will be directing Balakrishna’s next, is also going through a similar problem right now, where he is not able to find a heroine for his film with Balayya. Rakul and Shruti Haasan are said to have rejected the film, citing scheduling conflicts. With that, the director is now on the hunt for other heroines. It is now to be seen who will finally give their nod to be a part of the film.
