Gunasekhar confirms Samantha in Shaakunthalam

Gunasekhar who is known for big-ticket films and larger than the life roles has been working on two scripts Shaakunthalam and Hiranyakashyapa. It has been five years that Gunasekhar has released a movie. Rudhramadevi got released in 2015 and he has been working on his next set of projects.

Shaakunthalam as the title suggests is based on an episode on the mythological epic Mahabharata. Gunaa Team Works is producing the project. Mani Sharma is working as the music director of the movie.

Samantha has been confirmed in the titular role of the movie. Gunasekhar has announced the details today on New Year’s eve. More details regarding the project will be out very soon. The regular shooting might start in a couple of months. It will be interesting to see how Samantha will play the mythological role.
