Rajinikanth and Balakrishna who both completed 50 years in the film industry will be honoured at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Union Minister Dr. L. Murugan announced this during a media meeting. He said the government will felicitate both stars for their long journey in cinema, their huge popularity and their major contribution to Indian films.
Rajini began his acting career in 1975 with Apoorva Raagangal and has delivered many successful movies over the last five decades becoming one of the most iconic actors.
Balayya on the other hand has acted in more than 100 films in his 50 year career. He is also active in politics. Earlier this year he was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
This year IFFI will take place from November 20 to 27 in Goa with 7500 delegates and 270 films from 84 countries.
