Genelia Reflects On Her Gratitude Towards South Cinema

Genelia D’Souza is a well-known face in South Indian cinema especially Tollywood. She gained huge popularity and love with memorable roles in movies like Bommarillu, Happy, Dhee and Orange.

Her lively acting made her a favorite among youngsters helping her become one of the top heroines in Telugu cinema during her time.

After marrying Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh she took a long break from TFI. However she remains deeply thankful to the South film industry for shaping her career and making her a star. Unlike some actresses who ignore South cinema after entering Bollywood Genelia openly praises it.

During promotions for Aamir Khan’s film Sitaare Zameen Par she was asked whether heroines get strong roles in South films.

She confidently said yes and pointed to her own film journey as proof. Genelia said she will always be grateful for the love, stardom, and experience she gained in South cinema.
