Taapsee Paanu’s Game Over hit the screens on Friday and it is being appreciated all over. Directed by Ashwin Saravanan and written by Kavya, this film is a psychological thriller which keep you entertained throughout the film. The film is made just like a video game and the director and the writer have made the fullest use of this theme.

Swapna (Taapsee Pannu) plays a video game developer who is suffering from a trauma that she has gone through after meeting with an accident. She will undergoing a treatments with a psychiatrist (Anish Kuruvilla) and will be in process of overcoming her fears.

Meanwhile, Amrutha (Sanchana Natrajan) will be staying alone in her house which is located on a lonely street. She is being watched by someone from distance. Few minutes later, all we get to see it the body of Amrutha, being burnt and it doesn’t have a head.

While Swapna is trying to recover from her sufferings, she will be taken care by Kala Amma (Vinodini Vaidyanathan). Swapna comes to know that there is some connection in between her and Amrutha and slowly, we get to know what is happening to her. To know what it is, you have to watch the film on screen.

Tapsee has nailed the performance as an actress and she played the role of Swapna with ease. Vinodini is seen after a long time and she was awesome on screen. Screenplay is the hero of this film and it has been written perfectly by Kavya. The makers have made the utmost use of video games and all that Ashwin wants to tell us is that life is just like a video game multiple levels and lives and power ups. We have to fight back, but not give up.

Vinoth’s camera and Ron Yohan Ethan’s music are plus points for the film. On the whole, I is worth a watch this weekend.

Rating:3/5
