Aamir Khan who has a strong fan following in China recently visited the country for the Macau Comedy Festival. During a chat with his Chinese fan club, he shared exciting details about his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par.
Aamir revealed that the movie is an Indian adaptation of the Spanish film Champions, where he plays a rude basketball coach named Gulshan.
He said the film as a spiritual follow-up to Taare Zameen Par but with a different tone. “Taare Zameen Par made people cry, but this one will make them laugh. It’s a comedy with the same heart, focused on love, friendship and people with different abilities,” he said.
Aamir’s character is quite different from his earlier role, he is blunt, fights with everyone and has personal issues.
The story is about how a group of differently-abled individuals, including those with Down syndrome and autism, change his life. The film stars Genelia Deshmukh and is directed by RS Prasanna.
