From Cinema To CM Chair: Vijay’s Big Win

It finally happened. Actor-turned-politician and TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay took oath as the CM of Tamil Nadu at a grand ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai at 10 AM. Along with him nine ministers also took oath.

Several prominent leaders including Rahul Gandhi attended the event. Trisha Krishnan also grabbed attention as she cheered for Vijay during the ceremony.

Vijay’s wife and children were not seen but his parents attended and blessed him. With this victory, Vijay created history becoming one of the few South Indian film stars to become Chief Minister.

His party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, won 108 seats and formed the government with allies ending decades of Dravidian party dominance in the state.
