Yesterday, director Shankar revealed that he is planning to remake his 2005 blockbuster Anniyan (Aparichithudu in Telugu) Hindi soon. While Bollywood star Ranveer Singh will the doing the lead role in the Hindi version, Pen Studios banner will be bankrolling the film which is expected to go on the floors from mid-2022.
Meanwhile, this morning Anniyan original Tamil producer V Ravichandran of AASCAR FILMS released a press note threatening Shankar for not approaching him before announcing the film’s Hindi remake. Ravichandran has also mentioned in his letter that he will go to any extent to fight against the unlawful act by Shankar if he remains to be calm on the issue.
Incidentally, Shankar was cornered by Lyca Productions for halting their prestigious project, Indian 2 without any pre-intimation. With back to back legal issues surrounded, have to wait and see how Shankar deals with the further circumstances.
