Visiting Dwaraka would be blessing for any hindu is the popular belief. But visiting this Dwaraka of a thief and his clumsy life style would make you wish for more. The desire to survive will loom over your wish to get entertained and be prepared if you want to watch this movie for the weekend.
PLOT : A thief Erra Seenu (Vijay Devarakonda) in trying to escape the devotees chasing him ends up at Dwaraka becoming Godman. Seenu becomes Krishnananda Swamy and Gurumurthy (Prudhvi) plays important role in setting up his shop. Seenu falls in love with Vasudha (Pooja Jhaveri) but she hates him to the core. While he is enjoying this fame, these thugs belonging to Law, Ravi (Prabhakar), Politics, Chinna Babu (Raghu) and Police, Raju (Jacky) force him to form a trust and look to escape with the money of more than 8 crores. On the other hand, Chaitanya (Murali Sharma) takes on oath to bring out the truth of all godmen and he targets Krishnananda too. How can Seenu escape from this web? Forms the rest of the story.
Performances : Vijay Devarakonda lacks any energy to convince us with his portrayal in the movie. The major drawback for him is the script and also he looks highly disinterested about the proceedings. He became highly appreciated actor with Pelli Choopulu and Yevade Subramanyam, but with this attempt he just earns some backlash too. He needs to meet the expectations of audience with good and better scripts or at least perform upto his potentiality. Pooja Jhaveri gives you impression that she has a lot to offer but she needs to get her acting skills polished. She seems to have a set of expressions and nothing more than that at this moment.
Prudhvi does good job for the material given but the script brings him in such portions that he irritates you to no bound. Murali Sharma gives his best in some scenes and he is the one saving grace of this movie. Jacky, Raghu, Prabhakar and Prakash Raj are just plausible in their roles. Surekha Vani and Raghu Babu were not used properly.
Technicalities : Film lacks majorly in the department of script development. The story had some good elements but it falters to the core with the too old screenplay approach. Hero being a thief falls for the heroine in a jiffy and then heroine who tries to wash her hands if she even touches her accepts his love just because he confesses to the world that he is a thief. The character development lacked any depth and even at the top parts that were explored they lack any consistency.
Cinematographer Shyam K. Naidu gives his best in songs but when it comes to scenes even he ends being so confused. His work could be rated as the best among the crew that worked for the film and that is not saying much. Music by Sai Karthik has few good tunes but his back ground score lacks any memorable moments. He was needed to lift some scenes but he just recreated Mani Sharma’s BGM for the movie and that is about it.
Director Srinivas Ravindra is the major culprit as he hand a good production budget by the looks of it , some good actors to fall back on bit he lacked any conviction to use them and please the audience. He could have easily made a better film had he tried to go with an holistic approach than a short film dragged sequences. On the whole, he needed to bring his A- game but he failed miserably.
Analysis : The movie had some good promotions but the script lacks in originality and in fact it drags on so much that you feel like running out of the theatre and several did too. Saying this, the movie does had its moments but they all end up in teasers. Stay away from it.
