Director Vijay Kanakamedala known for his debut film Naandhi, is now preparing for the release of his latest project Bhairavam starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Nara Rohith, Manchu Manoj.
The film is scheduled to release on May 30th, 2025. However it recently faced backlash on social media, where fans of Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi started a boycott campaign.
The controversy arose after an old Facebook post resurfaced, allegedly showing Vijay liking or sharing a meme that mocked the mega family. The meme was a spoof of the Bollywood film Paa, altered to “Cha”, which many saw as an insult to Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan.
In response, Vijay issued a public apology. He explained that the post was from 2011 and suggested that his account may have been hacked or the post was faked.
He added that he has always respected the mega family and even worked as an assistant director on Gabbar Singh, showing his admiration for them.
