Tamil director AL Vijay’s new project, Thalaivi was supposed to hit the screens in the month of April but has been postponed indefinitely due to the prevailing Covid circumstances across the country. The film is a biopic on yesteryear heroine and former CM of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa and has Bollywood heroine Kangana Ranaut in the titular role. Bankrolled by Vishnu Induri, this pan-Indian project’s new release date is expected to be out soon after the Covid situation returns to normalcy.
Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that director AL Vijay’s next project has been locked. Reportedly, the movie is going to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and will have Megha Akash, Nivetha Pethuraj, Manjima Mohan and Reba Monica in the key roles.
Reports also suggest that young Telugu actor Vishwak Sen will be doing a special role in this as-yet-untitled film. News is also that the project will have an OTT release soon after the shoot is completed.
