Released on January 25th, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s dark action thriller, Pathaan had a dream run at the worldwide box office. This Siddharth Anand directional smashed all the existing Bollywood box office records and created new benchmarks in all domestic and overseas territories.
A few days back, Pathaan breached Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office. An official poster regarding the same is released by the makers today. It is already reported that marking the historic success of Pathaan, the film’s production house Yash Raj Films has organized #PathaanDay on February 17th. It is widely known that the makers kept the ticket price flat Rs 110 for the film across all Indian multiplex chains during weekdays from now onwards. This strategy yielded good results for the buyers and makers of Pathaan.
Meanwhile, the latest trade reports suggest that Pathaan crossed the mighty Baahubali 2 but the twist in the tale is that it crossed only in the Hindi version. As per the Mumbai trade analysts, Pathaan is now the all-time highest-grosser in the Hindi version. Following Pathaan, films like Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and Dangal are in the top four all-time grosses list among Hindi version collections. Quoting Taran Adarsh’s tweet, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda replied”Congratulations to @iamsrk sir, #SiddharthAnand @yrf and the entire team of #Pathaan on crossing @BaahubaliMovie 2 Hindi NBOC. Records are meant to be broken and I am happy it was none other than @iamsrk who did it! “.
At the overseas box office, Pathaan crossed more than $45 million. In key markets like North America, Australia, Germany, the UK, UAE, and Newzealand, Pathaan emerged as the all-time highest-grosser among straight Hindi films but is impossible for the film to at least come near to the humongous Baahubali 2 worldwide collections.
Co-starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia in prominent roles, Pathaan also has Salman Khan in a key cameo. Pathaan is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe.
