Deepika Padukone has claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s experience in athletics and her ability to maintain composure during the Pathaan controversies.
A month has passed since Pathaan, which debuted in theatres on January 25 in time for the Republic Day weekend. In addition to Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana, it is billed as Shah Rukh Khan’s homecoming movie. The movie broke numerous box office records while setting a new standard. It hasn’t been an easy road for Pathaan since the publication of the teaser till it opened in theatres. It became embroiled in disputes, making headlines like never before.
Many people talked about the movie being targeted for a boycott and drawing attention to controversies when it was released. The leading lady spoke candidly on the same subject once more and maintained her poise throughout the criticism.
Recently, Deepika Padukone mentioned in her most recent interview that she and Shah Rukh Khan both have a background in sports, which has taught them a lot about restraint. She continued by giving praise to the same thing for assisting the actor couple to remain composed when the movie faced criticism. After the release of its first song, Besharam Rang, the movie was dogged by controversy.
During her latest interview, Deepika Padukone said, “I can say this for both of us that we don’t know any other way of being. I think that’s just who we are as people and the way we have been brought up by our respective families. We came here [to Mumbai] alone with just dreams and aspirations. All we know is commitment, hard work and humility, and it has gotten us where we are. Some of it (handling adversity) comes with experience and maturity. We both have been athletes. I do know that he played sports in school and college. Sport teaches you a lot about restraint.”
She discussed her on- and off-screen romance with Shah Rukh Khan in the same interview. Deepika Padukone recalled how, 15 years ago, SRK cast her in a double role opposite of him without even holding an audition for her. At the time, she was a complete unknown with no connections to the film industry.
Deepika Padukone stated, “The wonderful thing about our connection is that one handshake or hug tells everything we need to convey to one other.
