Deepika Padukone has reportedly been confirmed for a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King directed by Siddharth Anand. Initially there were rumors about her involvement but director Anand had dismissed them.
However a recent media report confirms that Deepika joined the film after her schedule aligned with the production timelines.
Deepika’s initial unavailability was due to her taking time off for her newborn and working on her fitness.
Shah Rukh always intended for Deepika to be part of the project but scheduling conflicts led to delays. With the film’s schedule now adjusted, she has come on board.
Deepika will likely have an extended cameo with her scenes to be shot over 10 to 12 days in October. In addition to Deepika there’s speculation about Amitabh Bachchan playing a significant role, but details are unclear at this point. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Shah Rukh’s daughter.
