Deepika Padukone, who recently returned from her maternity break was initially set to star opposite Prabhas in the upcoming film Spirit directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
The shoot was expected to begin in October. However, reports soon surfaced that Deepika was dropped from the project and her contract was cancelled.
According to reports, the decision was due to Deepika’s unusual demands. Rumors suggest she wanted to work only six hours a day and asked for extra pay if the shoot extended beyond 100 days.
She also reportedly demanded additional payment per extra day, which didn’t go well with the perfectionist director. As a result, Sandeep is now looking for a new lead actress.
There are also claims that Deepika quoted a high remuneration. So far, she has not responded to these reports. Spirit, an action drama where Prabhas plays a cop, is produced by T-Series and Sri Bhadrakali Pictures.
