Naga Babu responded late to the controversy sparked by actor Sivaji’s remarks on women’s clothing. Nearly five days after the issue turned into a major public debate he released a video stating that no one has the right to tell women what they should or should not wear. He strongly opposed moral policing and said it goes against the Indian Constitution.
Naga Babu then shared a detailed post on social media saying that a woman’s choice of clothing is her personal right.
He added that moral policing violates basic constitutional rights such as freedom, dignity, privacy and equality.
His video drew attention not only for its message but also because it came days after the controversy began.
The issue started when Sivaji said actresses should dress “decently” in public. His comments triggered strong backlash. Although Sivaji later apologized for his words, he stood by his opinion keeping the debate active.
వస్త్రధారణ స్త్రీల వ్యక్తిగత హక్కు. Moral policing is against the Constitution.
