Chiranjeevi’s Costly Demand, Producers Retreat

Producers are hesitant to work with Chiranjeevi due to his high demand for a 70Cr remuneration, which matches Tier 1 Heroes. However, recent Chiranjeevi films haven’t performed as well at the box office. This high fee would push the budget for his films, like Mega156 directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by Pramod and Vamsi under UV Creations, beyond 150Cr.

Mega156 appears to be a grand socio-fantasy film based on its first look. Despite industry concerns, the film is proceeding with a whopping budget of RS 200Cr. Oscar winning MM Keeravani is set to compose six songs for the movie, and Sai Madhav Burra is providing the dialogue.

However, the industry faces challenges as the non-theatrical, OTT, and Satellite markets have shrunk recently, making producers wary of investing heavily. Chiranjeevi’s demand for a high fee combined with the uncertain market dynamics has led producers to reconsider working with him, despite the scale and potential of Mega156.
