Charu Shankar Talks About Her Intensive Dance Training

Actress Charu Shankar recently spoke about the hard work she put into preparing for her role in Chand Mera Dil.

In the film she plays Nivedita the mother of Ananya Panday’s character Chandni and a Bharatanatyam dancer. Charu said she wanted to fully understand the character instead of simply pretending to be a dancer on screen for sure.

To achieve this she trained in Bharatanatyam for several months under teacher Suhail Bhan. She learned dance movements, expressions, mudras, rhythms and even how to conduct a Bharatanatyam class.

Charu revealed that Ananya Panday was much equally dedicated and the two bonded closely during the training process.

She also praised director Vivek Soni for helping her shape the character through detailed discussions without fail. Released on May 22nd Chand Mera Dil stars Ananya Panday and Lakshya in the lead roles.
