Buchi Babu Clarifies Controversy Around Janhvi’s Role

Peddi released with paid premieres and has received a positive response from audiences. The movie is performing well at the box office and is expected to earn big numbers over the weekend. Ram Charan’s transformation and the effort he put into the role have been widely praised.

However Janhvi Kapoor’s character and performance have faced criticism on social media with many trolls and negative comments.

Responding to the backlash, director Buchi Babu said that there was never any intention to present Janhvi’s character in a controversial way.

He explained that her role was written to suit the village based setting of the film and to work as a romantic character in a commercial entertainer.

Janhvi also reacted to the criticism saying that Directors have their own vision for presenting a heroine while also considering audience preferences.
