Bootcut Balaraju is Bigg Boss fame Sohel’s new film that has been released with a lot of hype. Sohel is going all out with his promotions and emotional speeches. Read the detailed review here.

Story: Bootcut Balaraju(Sohel) is a good-for-nothing guy and spends around roaming with his friends. Everyone in his village respects Patelamma(Indraja) a lot and things change when Patelamma’s daughter Mahalakshmi(Meghaleka) falls for Balaraju. But to win her love, Balaraju needs to win the Sarpanch elections over Patelamma and prove a point. Did Bootcut Balaraju beat Patelamma in the elections and turn into a responsible citizen forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Sohel charms audiences with his endearing performance in the film. Whether in moments of comedy or deep emotion, he effortlessly carries the movie on his shoulders. Meghalekha delivers a polished performance, exuding beauty and naturalness, particularly shining in the love sequences. Siri Hanmanth, portraying another female lead, handles her role admirably. Supporting cast members such as Sunil, Indraja, and Jabardasth Rohini impress with their expressive performances. Avinash and Saddam also contribute effectively, doing justice to their respective roles.

Technical Aspects: Koneti Sree’s attempt as a writer falls short, with the screenplay lacking a significant impact. Bheems Ceciroleo’s songs and background score, while acceptable, do not leave a lasting impression. A more judicious editing approach could have eliminated some redundant scenes. Shyam K Naidu’s cinematography is decent, offering a fair visual experience. On the positive side, the production values stand out, demonstrating solidity.

Analysis: Bootcut Balaraju revolves around the timeless theme of a young man’s relentless pursuit of love, a narrative that has graced cinema for decades. Director Sree Koneti injects a breath of fresh air into the first half, infusing it with entertaining and romantic elements, resulting in a lively cinematic experience. Despite the familiar storyline, the first half wraps up on a positive note, thanks to engaging elements and melodious songs that resonate with a wide audience.

Regrettably, the narrative takes a downturn in the second half, as the director introduces new characters in an attempt to evoke emotions, leading to an unintended backlash. The addition of these characters creates a disjointed and less captivating storyline, leaving viewers yearning for the entertainment they experienced in the first half. The film eventually concludes, providing a sense of relief to the audience.

Bootcut Balaraju unfolds a narrative marked by both peaks and valleys. While the first half excels in delivering entertainment and a vibrant atmosphere, the second half struggles to sustain momentum, incorporating elements that hinder the overall viewing experience.

Verdict: Overall, Bootcut Balaraju unfolds as a comedy that heavily relies on outdated story ideas. Sree Koneti presents a narrative firmly rooted in conventional storytelling, with both the screenplay and direction treading a well-worn path. While Sohel and the rest of the cast deliver spirited performances, the film’s dependence on a familiar formula ultimately tests the audience’s patience. Ignore the film this weekend.

Bottom Line – Same old routine village drama
