Filming in real locations often comes with surprises and the team of Mandaadi experienced this recently.
On Friday, while shooting near Thondi coast in Ramanathapuram, a boat carrying the crew’s RED digital camera worth nearly Rs. 60 lakh overturned. Thankfully, everyone on board was safe but the camera was lost to the sea.
Mandaadi is a special project because it is being made in two versions. In Tamil, Soori plays the hero while Suhas is the villain and in the Telugu version, their roles are swapped.
The film is creatively supported by Vetrimaaran adding more weight to the project. This incident highlights the risks of outdoor shoots especially in open water, which is why many big productions choose controlled sets.
Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi and produced by Elred Kumar under RS Infotainment.
