People in Telugu States loved the movie to the bits. It became a huge hit because of the comedy, action and wholesome entertainment it delivered even though the story was from old school filmmaking. The narrative style of Trivikram Srinivas, Allu Arjun’s performance and Pooja Hegde’s glamour really helped the movie to win the hearts of the public. Murali Sharma’s character is a big highlight. This film proved to be such a big hit that each scene, a famous dialogue has become Meme worthy too. You might have not missed it in theatres but if you would love to spend your time at home with family watching any recent movie, then this will be a perfect choice for you.
The movie did not become as successful as its original in Tamil. Movie had similar elements, same narrative structure and even the scenes were not changed by the makers. They went ahead and used original film’s producer, actor Sivakarthikeyan’s performance as it is. They just used dubbing artist’s voice for his parts. Even though such measures take you out of the film, the story that it tries to narrate is inspiring enough. Watch it for Aishwarya Rajesh and Rajendra Prasad performances.
The best horror-thriller in recent times. Horror is not just about super natural elements like ghosts. It can have a powerful psycho killer and even powerful story, screenplay to engage us. Movie is the best out of all the films Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas did and you will fall in love with Ghibran’s background score from the film. Makers did not change even camera angles, movement from the original but Rajeev Kanakala scores more brownie points for his performance in the movie than original Tamil actor. If you haven’t watched it, please do.
Kalyanram decided to go for a thriller film for the first time in his career. He submitted himself to the story and did not try to induce any unnecessary heroic elevations at all. Nivetha Thomas performed really well in this movie and she holds the story together as well. This thriller has many supernatural elements but climax is highly imaginative and well shot for the budget movie had. Watch this film again and you won’t be bored at all.
Just for the Rajni Fan in all of us, this movie is a must. His best styling and character too, in the last decade. Rajni never saw such a slump in his career so much that his films either fail to satisfy his fans or his character seems to have no elements that can be associated with Superstar Rajni. After Kabali and Kaala kind of films, where he tried to re-invent he went back to his strengths in this film. The first hour of the film is still highly entertaining. It is the climax that director, Karthik Subbaraj messed up but he presented Rajni, the best.
Chi La Sow
The movie won National Award for its Screenplay. Rahul Ravindran who was facing flack for Manmadhudu 2, got a huge relief with National Award for this film. The simple love story has just two characters falling in love with each other over night and you will enjoy the film without a doubt. Sushanth and Ruhani Sharma performed to the best of their abilities in the film.
Vishal and Samantha’s best action entertainer. The movie tries to deal with the problem of identity theft in a very clever way and it has a problem that we all should be aware of as the subject. Movie has Arjun in a negative role and the senior actor is at his best too. You can just enjoy the film while getting educated about a pertinent problem.
Needi Naadi Oke Katha
Not many watched this film in theatres. But the director of the film decided to tell a story of a young man who is treated as an embarrassment by his father. His love, his inability to perform as well as his father expects him to in studies and the frustration all this creates in the young man’s life is all shown well in this movie. Even though the theme is pretty old, the director came up with a convincing narrative. Sri Vishnu delivered one of his best performances in the film. Not a gem, but definitely not a bad film too.
Raashi Khanna reinvented herself with this film. She also delivered one of her best performances in the film. Venky Atluri after not having a highly successful career as an actor turned into a good writer-director with this film. Above all, Varun Tej’s performance in the movie needs to be praised as well. You can just breeze through this entertainer as SS Thaman songs and BGM score add weight to the screenplay of the film.
Naga Shourya’s highly breezy entertainer. Movie is a fun comedy and you won’t regret watching it at all. Even though it is a film that asks you to not to take it too seriously, he does come up with a message of how hatred is just waste of time. Music in the movie is also very fresh and it will help your viewing as well.
A good comedy thriller that again did not get much box office appreciation when it released. It is not a great film but it definitely deserves to be viewed. It did not tell a story as effectively as Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi or Brochevarevarura which fall in same category but it is a through entertainer. Give it a try.
The first film from Jersey director, Gautham Tinnanuri. The movie is revered by critics for its novel screenplay. It tends to give you moments in a love story and then carry you with it on an emotional roller-coaster ride. The movie deserves your second and third viewing as it has some hidden nuances that you can catch only on multiple viewing.
