During a recent interview AR Rahman spoke about getting fewer work offers in Bollywood. His comments led to backlash and criticism everywhere.
To clear the misunderstanding Rahman later shared a video message on Insta. He said his intentions were pure and that his words were taken the wrong way.
Rahman said that music has always been his way of celebrating culture and connecting with people. He said India is his inspiration, teacher and home and he never meant to hurt anyone honestly.
Rahman also mentioned his recent work including mentoring young musicians, supporting orchestras, creating a multicultural virtual band and composing music for Ramayana with Hans Zimmer.
Without blaming or naming anyone, Rahman chose a peaceful approach. He said he wants to move on, focus on making better music, and end the issue positively.
