Ananya Panday recently shared her experiences of being bullied in school and going through therapy. She also talked about how anonymous accounts once tried to spread rumors about her education during the early days of her career.
This year has been a great one for Ananya, with both “Call Me Bae” and “CTRL” receiving positive feedback from audiences. Once a favorite target of trolls, she has now gained respect from some of her harshest critics.
In a conversation with Barkha Dutt, Ananya opened up about being bullied in school. She recalled how social media started gaining popularity around that time, and she faced cruel name-calling, such as “hunchback,” “flat screen,” and “chicken legs”.
She explained how social media amplifies such voices, which affected her confidence. Even now, she said, the impact is still there. She added, “Self-love is a journey, not the destination”.
