Allu Arjun credited director Sukumar for his success, saying, “I became a star because of his brilliance”. Speaking to the press, he explained that the movie “Aarya” gave him recognition as an actor, and “Pushpa” took him to where he is today.
The National Award-winning actor also spoke about the film’s title, highlighting its gentle tone and how it contrasts with Pushpa Raj’s intense character.
“We created a contrast with a poster, which made a strong visual impact. My friend and director Harish Shankar had doubts about using a soft title for a mass film, but Sukumar convinced me with his idea,” he shared.
He also mentioned how times have changed, reflecting on how doing a Hindi film was once a big dream for Telugu actors. “We have come a long way since then,” he added.
Talking about “Pushpa 2“, Allu Arjun discussed the challenging Jathara episode, where he had to transform and wear female attire. “My director thinks differently, he’s incredibly intelligent.
The Jathara episode was the toughest part of my career,” he said. Pushpa 2 is set to release on December 5, 2025.
