All eyes on January 2023

January 2022 posed a lot of hope for filmmakers and audiences, as a bunch of big films were scheduled to release, and it would mark the first Sankranthi for Tollywood after 2020. However, all plans went down the gutter due to the third wave of the pandemic, which resulted in the postponement of all the films scheduled for a January release.

Now, all biggies are eyeing January 2023, with some eyeing Sankranthi and others eyeing mid-January. Prabhas’s Adipurush, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar are already in the race, and now, Vijay’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual with director Vamshi Paidipally is also eyeing January, along with Vijay Deverakonda’s film with director Siva Nirvana.

Ram Charan’s film with Shankar also eyed the same month initially but got postponed ultimately. It is now to be seen which films will finally be able to make it for a January 2023 release and which films will get postponed.
