The domestic helper and driver of Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter, were detained by Teynampet police in Chennai for stealing her jewelry.
Eswari, a domestic helper, and Venkatesan, a driver, crashed and took jewelry from a locker at the director’s home, according to the police.
A few days ago, IAishwarya Rajinikanth reported the theft of her jewelry, including diamonds and gold, from her apartment to the Teynampet police, naming three of her housekeepers as suspects.
After questioning Eswari, the authorities discovered that she had taken 4 kg of silver, 30 grams of diamond jewelry, and 100 sovereigns worth of gold from Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
The pair was detained on Tuesday, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Greater Chennai Police.
Eswari was familiar with the location of the locker key because she had worked with Aishwarya Rajinikanth for the last 18 years. She had stolen the jewelry, sold it, and used the proceeds to purchase a home.
According to the authorities, she stole the jewelry over time from Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s home.
From Eswari’s home, documents pertaining to the house’s purchase were retrieved.
