Director Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna glorified the concept of Aghoras in Akhanda, with everyone lauding Balayya’s performance as Aghora, and Boyapati’s taking. Akhanda became a roaring success at the box office, rejuvenating everyone’s spirits at the theatres – of the filmmakers and of audiences as well, after the devastating experience that the coronavirus pandemic left in everyone’s memory.
While the concept of Aghoras has now been glorified thanks to Akhanda, it wasn’t something that didn’t exist earlier in Tollywood. Several actors have been seen as Aghoras in Tollywood earlier, including Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh. In recent times, actor Vishwak Sen too donned the avatar in one of his upcoming films.
Chiranjeevi was briefly seen as an Aghora in his film Sri Manjunatha, while Nagarjuna was briefly seen as an Aghora in Damarukam, and Venkatesh was seen as an Aghora in Nagavalli. Vishwak Sen is set to be seen as an Aghora in his upcoming film Gaami.
