Admaker Reveals Tough Choice Between Aamir And Shah Rukh

Recently, ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar shared an interesting story from his career. He once had to choose between Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan for an advertisement.

At that time, Shah Rukh asked for only Rs. 6 lakhs, as he needed that amount to buy his house, Mannat. Aamir, however, was charging Rs. 17 lakhs. Even with the big difference in fee, Kakkar chose Aamir because he felt Aamir’s image suited the ad better.

Kakkar explained that he was looking for someone with a simple, innocent, boy next door image which Aamir had after Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.

Shah Rukh, who was then known for Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, didn’t quite fit what Kakkar wanted. It took six months of talks to finalize Aamir.

Kakkar said his decision was never about money but about picking the right actor for the story.
