Director Ajay Bhupathi scored a hit with his debut flick RX 100 which introduced SS Karthikeya and Payal Rajput to the Telugu film industry. Even though the film was a grand success, Ajay had to undergo a lot of struggle to mount his second flick. Titled Maha Samudram, the film has underwent a lot of changes even before it could go on floors. The latest development is that Samantha has walked out of the project in the last minute. The makers of Maha Samudram found a replacement in Aditi Rao Hydari who was impressed with the script. It is said that she is heading to Hyderabad for the film’s shooting.
Initially, Ajay had managed to convince Naga Chaitanya and Samantha to play the lead roles in Maha Samudram. Later, Chay opted out of the film which made Ajay finalise Ravi Teja as the hero. When Mass Maharaja delivered a flop with Disco Raja, he was eventually replaced by Sharwanand. Now, rumours are rife that Samantha had walked out of the film because her previous flick with Sharwanand (Jaanu) turned out to be a dud at the box office. Though their performances in Jaanu were appreciated, it didn’t translate into box office collection.
