2024 Sankranti Smashes Records with Solid Collections

Sankranti is a wonderful time for both film audiences and filmmakers in Tollywood. In 2024, it was especially notable as four major films were released: Guntur Kaaram, Hanuman, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga, making it the grandest Sankranti in Telugu film history.

Previously, the 2020 Sankranti stood out as the biggest, featuring blockbuster hits like Ala Vaikunthapuuramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru, which became the top-grossers after Baahubali in Telugu industry well targets.

During the 2024 Sankranti, Hanuman stole the show with a staggering gross of around 290Cr, followed by Guntur Kaaram with over 180Cr. Naa Saami Ranga did reasonably well, while Saindhav faced disappointment at the box office, accumulating only around Rs 55Cr gross collectively.

The cumulative gross collection from these releases amounted to Rs 525Cr, surpassing the record set by the 2020 Sankranti. However, when considering only Telugu language collections, 2020 still holds the crown. Nonetheless, when accounting for all languages combined, 2024 emerges as the most successful Sankranti in Tollywood history.
