Samantha as a Journo in Mahanati!

Mahanati Savitri is the epitome of elegance and beauty in our Telugu Cinema. She made a career out of acting in the classical movies during the early times, revered to be the Golden era of Telugu Cinema in general. The movies like Devadasu, Aradhana, Missamma, Kalasiunte Kaladu Sukham, Ardhangi, Pelli Chesi Choodu, Appu Chesi Pappu Koodu, Mayabazaar, Pandava Vanavasam, Nartanasala and many more have given her an identity and she gave life to the characters as well. With such a great resume of work, she is called as Mahanati, the greatest of all the actresses ever produced by South Cinema as she was equally popular in Tamil as well.

She totally acted in more than 200 movies in both the languages, Telugu and Tamil. She married early in life by the age of 18 and spent a turbulent life due to her work and personal troubles. She died early at the age of 45 due to cancer and by the time, she died she did not have a dime on her name as people around her took her money and properties showing her continuous and uncontrollable drinking habit as a reason. Such a great actress personal life is still not completely known to many and Naga Ashwin, the young director decided to bring out the unknown shades of her life.

The director chose young actress, Keerthy Suresh to reprise the role of Savitri for screen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be acting as one in the movie as well. Earlier, people thought she could be Jamuna, the close friend of the actress and contemporary but now, we can say that she is playing the role of a journalist in the movie. Samantha will start working for the movie from next month and she will follow the story of her favourite actress and through her point of view the story will be explored and explained as per the close sources. Samantha has already done a lot of homework for the role and she is excited to be playing the part. The other casting is still on and soon they will be finalized.
