A limited budget film titled, Ek Mini Katha starring young actors Santosh Ahoban and Kavya Thapar in lead roles was supposed to hit the screens in the last week of April. But the ongoing Coron second wave circumstances disturbed the film’s theatrical release plans.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that as there is no clue on where the Covid situation returns to normalcy, the makers are planning to opt for a direct OTT release of the film. Sources confirm that the makers are already in talks with the leading digital streaming platform Amazon Prime Video regarding the same. An official announcement regarding Ek Mini Katha’s digital release is expected to be out soon after a satisfactory deal is locked between both parties.
While noted director Merlapaka Gandhi has provided the story, young filmmaker Karthik Rapolu has directed Ek Mini Katha. Shraddha Das will be seen in a prominent role in the movie which is said to be filled with adult content. UV Concepts in association with Mango Mass Media banner bankrolled the movie.
It is well-known that a couple of days back, even Anasuya’s movie, Thank You Brother also had a direct OTT release on Aha. Will more small and medium budget films follow the same direct OTT routine in the coming days? Needs to be seen.
