It is hard to be a Telugu Film Lover and ignore an absolute classic like Missamma. Even though the film is 65 years old, the music, the performances, the writing and even the production values are still exemplary. They feel so relevant to this date that we feel obliged to watch it at least once every year. NTR, ANR, Savitri and Jamuna along with SV Rangarao made the film their own. Relangi, Ramana Reddy add themselves to the ensemble like jewels in the crown. Young Jamuna performed on a classical number, Balanu ra Madhana in the film, which catapulted her to huge success as an young talent. She grew after the movie release as an actress so much that she became the second go-to person for many big productions after Savitri for all kinds of films. The actress also earned a name as glamour queen too. She in her 80’s tried to dance to her old song that too while it is on TV. She even criticised herself in a cute manner.
