Tamil actor Suriya has been struggling through to find a good hit from his Sikander and everybody thought Yamudu/Singham franchise will help him to come out of the rut and get a big hit for his market to sustain. The lean patch despite good films from him is hurting his fans much more than any other. His movies have been produced and distributed by Gnanavel Raja mostly, and even the production house, Studio Green need a big hit to maintain their firm hold as well. But the time seems to be going against him and the team like anything. First, the movie was slated for a release during Diwali and they shifted to accommodate Karthi film, Kashmora and scheduled for December 9th.
But as Dhruva was releasing for December 2nd and Allu Aravind being close to the producers requested them to give his film another week to combat the cash crunch situation. The team then slated for a Christmas release for 23rd. Then they have postponed the movie to January release looking at the cash crunch situation. But the tough times continued with Tamil youth coming out to protest against Jallikattu ban. Even though the protest was peaceful it turned violent recently and to let the situation calm down, the team now decided to release the movie one week later. On February 3rd the movie will release big as it was planned before. But in Telugu, Nani’s Nenu Local is slated for a release on same date, so Suriya may not get the big release that he is hoping for!
