Any film that has a strong character of its own speaks volumes about the actor and director capability in handling such fine tune subject where everything had to come together. Only such films with love of audience, tend to become huge and grow into a franchise. Yamudu/ Singam of Suriya and Hari has been one such film that led audience to fall in love with a holds barred cop who loves his job to the tee.
Suriya with such an attitude and profound determination on his face resembling the character made his 25th film most memorable character out of all his films other than Khakha Khakha and Surya S/O Krishnan. He has come up with a successful 2nd installment and now the third one is ready for release since last year. But the movie has been postponed four times now, with various reasons. It was announced to be a diwali dhamaka but changed that plan for Kashmora and then with Demonetization and friendship factors tried to be a Christmas party.
But further financial issues made the makers to think for a Republic Day release and with Jallikattu protest, the release has been moved to February 9th now. The team met the press today, at Chennai explaining their situation and asking fans to support the movie, unconditionally with an apology. The producer Gnanvelraja said that after Rajni it Suriya who has market in all over South and the movie already did a pre release business of 100crs and earned a table profit. He apologised to fans and asked them to enjoy their favourite hero in most ferocious avatar ever. After him Harris Jayaraj expressed his excitement for writing lyrics for the first time and thanked music lovers for loving his songs. He shared his experience with Suriya over the years.
Director Hari talked about the bond he shares with Suriya over the last 10 years with 5 films and wished the film would be a major success to be remembered for them. He also said the film would be more massy and fast paced the previous two. Actor Suriya thanked the team especially, Hari for his continuous association with him and shared that his family praised the film to be best in the franchise even better than Yamudu. He thanked and shared that Harris Jayaraj has been lucky and crucial in his career growth. He said he enjoyed the big part of 20 years of his career being in company of his fans and brilliant co-actors.
