Yami Gautam has revealed that she almost quit Bollywood despite making a successful debut with Vicky Donor.
In a recent interview she said she struggled to get the right opportunities because many people felt she did not have a “conventional” launch. Hoping to prove herself, she accepted roles she was not happy with.
At one stage, Yami decided to leave acting and return to her hometown in Himachal Pradesh to live on her family’s farmland.
However the success of Uri and Bala completely changed her career. She said those films gave her a fresh start and taught her not to let fear guide her decisions.
Today, Yami is one of Bollywood’s most respected actresses, with Article 370 among her biggest successes.
