No one wants to watch Chiranjeevi just on a small screen as we got used to celebrating him on the largest possible screen and he is a matinee idol for many. Similarly, senior heroes of Telugu Cinema don’t have to ask us to watch them, as they kept entertaining us for so long that we feel obliged to watch them and their films on screen or on TV, such is their aura. But things change with time and survival of the fittest is the market and life rule as well. When things are changing for good or bad, if you don’t change or at least try new things, a generation might forget you for good. Our Senior stars don’t have that problem but they have a desire to be relevant for years to come and have examples set by legends like ANR, NTR, Krishna and others, who adapted to new changes, frequently with a look on old values.
Hence, the talk in Industry is that l Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi who did host Game shows on TV, could look at entering into web-series or different content oriented shows on OTT platforms too. Venkatesh might try his hand as well with Suresh Babu, guiding him as always. With OTT platforms becoming better option to invest on at least for few years to come due to the current situation, Allu Aravind, Suresh Babu and Annapoorna Studios are planning to come up with content on OTT platforms in association with existing ones like AHA, owned by Allu Aravind or big players like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix, say Film Nagar sources.
