Will take glory of Kakatiyas beyond Telangana : TSR

Dr T Subbarami Reddy, Member of Parliament, in his address on the occasion of felicitating Tollywood comedian Dr K Brahmanandam in ‘Kakatiya Kala Vaibhava Mahotsavam’ held in Mahabubnagar town on Sunday, said such programmes to celebrate the art and culture of Kakatiyas would be held not only in every district across Telangana, but also in major cities of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, as the Kakatiya dynasty was spread across all these States around 700 years ago.

Describing the sculptures which were carved during the reign of Kakatiya rulers as magnificent art forms which emanated power from within, he said that even Sri Krishnadevaraya was inspired by such art forms.

He made it clear that there was no politics in celebrating the grandeur of the Kakatiya art and culture.

AP Jithender Reddy, Mahabubnagar MP, speaking on the occasion, said that there was a time when people used to make fun of Telangana dialect, but after the formation of Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had taken the dialect to the world stage by conducting Telugu Maha Sabha in a grand way.

Mahabubnagar MLA V Srinivas Goud reminded everyone that it was the wonderful engineering of Kakatiya rulers that Telangana could get so many irrigation tanks which were still intact and were the main source of irrigation for the State.
