After news came out that both pan-India films RRR and Radhe Shyam are likely to skip the scheduled releases during the Sankranthi season, the trade and moviegoers focus shifted to Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya’s rural drama, Bangarraju. Being directed by Kalyan Krishna, the movie is a spin-off to the 2016 Sankranthi blockbuster, Soggade Chinni Nayana and is carrying good expectations among the audience.
Even in the recently unveiled teaser, the team has reported that the film will hit the screens during the Sankranthi season. But the sudden surge in the Covid-19 cases and uncertainty on the ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh come as the main hurdles for the movie. Amidst Covid scare and the ticket prices issue in AP, will Nag dare to release Bangarraju? Remains to be seen.
Also starring Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty in prominent roles, Bangarraju is produced by Annapurna Studios is collaboration with Zee Studios. Anup Rubens is the music composer for this family entertainer.
