Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-anticipated mass entertainer, “Bhola Shankar,” is gearing up for release on August 11th. However, with only three days left, the film’s advance bookings have failed to gain momentum, disappointing expectations.
Despite the release of the trailer and recent pre-release event with a new song, the buzz remains low, possibly due to the film being a remake. Director Meher Ramesh’s lack of recent work in the industry may also have affected the film’s hype. Chiranjeevi, however, remains confident in the movie’s potential and expressed his support during the pre release event.
He defended the choice of remakes, stating that solid content should be presented to the Telugu audience, regardless of the source. The film is said to have a stylized version of the original movie “Vedhalam,” which hasn’t been fully exposed on OTT platforms, making it feel like a unique Telugu film.
Despite Chiranjeevi’s reassurances, the current advance bookings indicate a different audience mindset. It remains to be seen how “Bhola Shankar” will perform upon its release, as fans eagerly await the verdict on whether it can surpass the lowest openings for Chiranjeevi’s re-entry film, “Godfather.”
