Why is Karnam Malleswari’s biopic shelved?

A pan-India project on the inspiring life of Olympic medalist from Srikakulam Karnam Malleswari was formally announced a year ago. Lady director Sanjana Reddy is roped as the director and noted writer-filmmaker Kona Venkat in association with MVV Satyanarayana are on board to bankrolling the project.

Even news came out that top heroines such as Anushka, Taapsee, Rakul Preet are in consideration of the titular role in this prestigious project. Now, the latest we hear from our sources is that the makers have decided to shelve the movie.

As per the inside reports, after witnessing the poor response for the recently released Thalaivi, a biopic on yesteryear heroine and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Karnam Malleswari makers are left in dilemma on going ahead with the making of Karnam Malleswari and decided to shelve it at the scripting stage itself.
