Why is Akhil after remakes?

His debut film proved to be a dud at the box-office and it seems Akhil Akkineni doesn’t want to go wrong in terms of the script, at least. No wonder he is eyeing remakes for a while now. If it was the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani remake earlier, he is now keen to be a part of the remake of Dulquer Salman’s Malayalam film Kammati Paadam which has opened to rave reviews in Kerala and is being lauded across the film world.

Directed by Rajeev Ravi, the film was produced by Prem Menon, this film sees Dulquer in a new avatar. Well, one wonders why Akhil is so keen to be a part of remakes. Is it because he thinks the risk factor is low? Or does he think Telugu writers aren’t capable of writing good stories. Well, We hope it isn’t the latter.
