Why did Tanuja slap Dharmendra ?

Dharmendra, a seasoned actor in Bollywood, with a distinguished filmography. The actor has contributed to numerous hit films over the course of more than five decades in the business. He has, however, frequently found himself at the centre of disputes, particularly with the female employees. Tanuja, who is also an actress and Kajol’s mother, once slapped the Bollywood heartthrob when he made advances towards her.

The 87-year-old celebrity wed Prakash Kaur when they were just 19 years old. He fell in love with Hema Malini, and the two went on an elopement in 1980 without the latter divorcing his first marriage. They kept things low-key when they got married, and Dharmendra apparently converted to Islam. He has two children with the actress from Sholay and four with his previous wife.

In 2021, Tanuja reflected on some of her early professional encounters and shared a story of an almost-fight with Dharmendra. The actress spoke candidly about her relationship with the 87-year-old in an interview, stating, “We were filming for Dulal Guha’s Chand Aur Suraj. I used to enjoy myself immensely when Dharam and I would drink together. He even introduced me to Prakash, his wife. When Lali was about six months old, Sunny (Deol) was just five years old.

Things, however, took an odd turn one day when Dharmendra tried to flirt with her and was slapped by his co-star. One day he tried to flirt with me, Tanuja added. I was shocked, so I smacked him and said, “Besharam! You have the gall to flirt with me, I know your wife. The Apne star urged Tanuja to make him his Rakhi brother as he felt humiliated. “Tanu, meri Maa, sorry bolta hoon! He begged, embarrassed,” she said. Make me your brother, please. She then wrapped the actor’s wrist in a black thread.
