Why did Sanjay Dutt Want Father Sunil to Quit Politics?

Sanjay Dutt also discussed how his father, Sunil Dutt, influenced him and how he disliked the latter’s political career.

With his son Sanjay Dutt carrying on his father’s heritage as a versatile actor, Sunil Dutt, born Balraj Dutt, is a well-known name in the Indian film business. Sanjay concentrated on developing his acting career, beginning in 1981 with Rocky, while his father made the switch to politics. The Rocky actor previously believed his father wasn’t a good fit for the political realm for the following reasons.

The movie was released in 2003, and the legendary actor’s death in 2005 from a heart attack robbed the film industry of his talent. The veteran actor, who was also a five-term member of Parliament and a former Mumbai sheriff, joined the Indian National Congress party in 1984.

While talking about his father’s political career Sanjay Dutt said, “People are constantly making a fool of Dad, taking him for a ride and are constantly returning for repeat performances. I wish he’d realize this and stop being treated like this. He’s too good a man and wants to help others since he is in a position to do that.”

Sanjay Dutt also said, “Politics is still a bone of contention between us. I think he should quit. He’s too nice and honest for politics. He wants to do good for the country, but he fails to realize that it’s not a one-man job. He’s constantly under tension since he joined politics. I wish he’d stick to making films, something he’s done all his life.” He also spoke about Sunil Dutt’s influence on him, and speaking of that, he added, “People have often speculated about our relationship, they believed I was a mama’s boy, but the fact is that it is my father who’s influenced me the most. We share our values and priorities.”
