Which way will Ram’s experiment go?

Ram Pothineni delivered the biggest success of his career in the form of Puri Jagannath’s Ismart Shankar. That film established Ram as an action hero, and his image completely changed with the release of Ismart Shankar. Following Ismart Shankar, Ram stuck to a similar subject in the form of Red, where he was seen playing two characters, both of them with various layers. Red, while not as successful as Ismart Shankar, turned out to be a decent success.

Sources now say that Ram is all set to explore more dimensions of the action genre with his upcoming film with director Linguswamy. In fact, Ram okayed Lingusawmy’s film after he rejected several films after Red. He wanted to make sure that the image he got from Ismart Shankar was kept intact. Linguswamy’s film is being made as a bilingual, in Tamil and Telugu, and Ram is said to be playing an out and out massy character in the film.

If sources are to be believed, Ram and Linguswamy’s film will have a faction background, where Ram will be seen playing a factionist. Tollywood has seen many films in the faction genre, but no one has attempted to revive this genre in a long time. Given that the current trend is not so much into faction, it is to be seen if Ram’s attempt at reviving this genre will go well, or not.
